Originally founded as the Latin American Studies Program at Indiana University, the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies has supported outreach initiatives and educational programming focused on highlighting Latin American and Caribbean topics and communities in a global setting for the last 6 decades.

2024 Conference on Global Indigenous Studies

November 15-17, 2024, Indiana University Hamilton Lugar School, Bloomington, IN

CLACS is proud to be a sponsor of the first Conference on Global Indigenous Studies (CGIS 2024), hosted by the Indiana University Global Indigenous Studies Network (GISN). This conference is a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary event that will bring together national and international scholars, educators, practitioners, students, policy makers, activists, academic institutions, Indigenous organizations, governmental and non-governmental organizations. 9th Annual Quechua Alliance

May 3, 2025, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN

Since 2015, The Quechua Alliance’s Annual Meeting has been a vibrant and multigenerational space for the exchange of ideas between Quechua speakers, community leaders, college students, and educators who share an interest and passion for Quechua language and Andean culture. One of the main goals is to strengthen the vibrant Quechua enthusiast community in the United States and the diaspora.

This year's Quechua Alliance meeting is sponsored and hosted by the Indiana University Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) and the Global Indigenous Studies Network (GISN).
