Dianne Wellington is a third-year Jamaican doctoral student at Indiana University Bloomington in the Literacy, Culture, and Language Education Program. She works alongside Dr. Carmen Medina as a Research Assistant and contributor to this work. She serves as a member of the AERA Writing and Literacy Graduate Student Executive Board and a Graduate School Diversity Emissary. At IU, she is an Associate Instructor and Grad Assistant. Prior to Indiana University, she served as a Secondary English Education Teacher and Freshman Composition Instructo Her research interests are transformative language and literacies from an African Diaspora and Caribbean Transnational perspective.
