Sonia is the current Associate Director for CLACS. She received her MA from Center of Latin American and Caribbean Studies in June 2018. She earned her BA in anthropology with a minor in Latin American studies from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. Her personal and professional interests include indigenous rights advocacy, indigenous language politics and preservation in the Americas. Sonia has completed intermediate and advanced level Quechua study in Cusco, Peru. She is also involved with non-profit work dedicated to promoting language conservation among Native American communities in the States.
